Alternative Rock Camp

“Rock camp was my son’s favorite camp last summer.  It was a great way to try out playing with
other people and seeing if you might want to be in a band someday. I was amazed how well
the kids gelled by the end of the week.  They were able to play a few songs together and sounded
really good.”  –Debbie (2013 parent)

ALTERNATIVE ROCK CAMP is back Summer 2025!

July 21-25, 2025  OR  August 11-15, 2025 **AUGUST CAMP IS FULL**

register below!

Camps are 9 AM – 3 PM Monday – Friday, for kids 10-17.  Our camps have a 1:3 or 1:4 counselor to student ratio!

Camp at Rock Academy is a fun, hands-on experience in creating a real rock band.  We use alternative rock, punk, indie and grunge songs of the last 30 years as our curriculum.  We rehearse as a band for one week then perform a show for family and friends.

Instrumentalists should have at least 1-2 years of playing experience and/or a current private instructor.  Prior to camp, they should be at the level of playing along to simple rock songs.  Guitarists should have some experience with open chord and/or power chord names and locations. Keyboardists should have some experience building major and minor chords.  There is an expectation that campers are serious about rehearsing complete songs and building a setlist for the Friday show.
