Kaleidoscope Rock Academy began in the basement of a local retail music store over a decade ago. It became a part of Kaleidoscope School of Music in 2005. It is the Eastside’s original rock band program for teens, adults and tweens, running continuously since 2001.
Director Charles McCrone has played guitar since 1979 and has played in bands for over 30 years. He is an honors graduate of Musicians Institute Hollywood and a summa cum laude graduate of Whitworth University. Since 1991 he has added 25,000 hours of real world teaching experience to his resume and has crafted a unique, personable and academic rock ensemble experience for students of the Academy.
